VERPISS DICH, DU WEISST GENAU, ICH VERMISS DICH – Die Zaubershow

Popcorn-scent in the air, the stage is being cleaned and the last cables are being connected. The audience waits and realizes as soon as the performers talk about yesterday’s evening: the show has started. In VERPISS DICH, DU WEIßT GENAU ICH VERMISS DICH – Die Zaubershow, the queer-feminist collective TIGERS’ KITCHEN creates a relaxed, gentle space where memories are shared to say goodbye and find closure. Unlike the song by Tic Tac Toe, the piece isn’t about a lost lover, but rather about the first true love of many: Mama. In an uninhibited, humorous, and laid-back style, TIGERS’ KITCHEN through everyday life stories talk about their mothers. Music, song and dance accompany the introspective narration built on auto-fictional memories.
With sensitivity and clever timing, TIGERS’ KITCHEN finds humor in sadness without minimizing the gravity. And there’s magic tricks. Because why not? Wouldn’t it be practical if the open wounds of the (un)said and (un)forgotten could be magically healed? The actual magic of the piece lies in the ensemble’s unfiltered vulnerability. It lingers, inspires and offers the hope that in goodbye, we can find reconciliation—with ourselves and with those who are no longer.
