For anyone looking to explore Dortmund ahead of the FAVORITEN Fest, we offer a range of fascinating city tours.
All city tours start at the Katharinentreppe. Situated opposite the main station, it effectively forms the gateway to the city centre. It is itself a thoroughfare, a meeting place and a public stage all at once.

Where do queer people feel safe – and where do they not? This guided tour explores the sense of safety experienced by queer FLINTA* people in the Brückstraßenviertel. Topics include safe(r) spaces, visibility and art as a form of emotional expression. The tour is open to anyone interested – whether queer or not.
Rike Lewedag (alias Rike Liebertag) is an urban planner, queer, passionate about music and art, and wrote her bachelor’s thesis at TU Dortmund University on the topic of this tour.
This city tour is a collaboration with STADT_RAUM at the Museum of Art and Cultural History (MKK).

As part of the collaborative project ‘Wir sind das Stadtbild´ (We Are the Cityscape), we invite you to join us on a walk from Dortmund’s Nordstadt district towards the city centre.
The guided tour starts at the Katharinentreppe, leads through Dortmund’s Nordstadt district and continues towards the city centre as far as Friedensplatz. Along the way, we will visit places that tell stories of belonging, exclusion and peace.
