A clubhouse somewhere in the middle of nowhere, a group of non-white people, a slightly different kind of gathering and only one chance to be heard. Being heard by the majority, by those who want to deny them their right to exist and to be German. What if they were to listen to us? They who say we don’t belong here. What would we do to convince them that we are also German, just like them? Do we even want that? And what is that, German? What does it take to be recognised as German in Germany – or who? The preparation for the hearing turns into a lively, turbulent negotiation of non-white realities of life: After all, who decides who belongs and who doesn’t? And what is the alternative? For this short evening, you are not you and I am not me. For this short evening, we are all in the same skin. In my skin.

About the artist
Maddy Forst is 27 years old and discovered the stage through music when she was still a child. The actress with a Haitian adoption background grew up near Freiburg. After a guest performance contract at the “Carla-Theater” in Freiburg in 2017 and the theatre project “Theater Total” in Bochum in 2017/18, she was finally able to fulfil her dream in 2019 and study acting at the Folkwang UdK.
During her studies, she was able to take part in the productions “Freaks” (director: Luis Liun Koch) and “Das Tierreich” (director: Friederike Heller) at Schauspielhaus Bochum and in other productions. She was honoured with the Folkwang Prize for her final production IN MY SKIN.
She is a permanent member of the ensemble at Schauspiel Köln for the 2024/25 season and can also be seen in series such as “Watch me- Sex sells” (ZDF Mediathek) and “Tatort Köln” (expected to be released in October). And that’s just the beginning.
